Our Choir
Sing With Us!
The Parish Choir is the backbone of music here, and leads the weekly 10am Eucharist and various other major services, under the direction of Rhiannon Llewellyn, our Director of Music. Our service music is often augmented by professional instrumentalists or small ensembles, in addition to our fine Lammermuir pipe organ and Yamaha C7 grand piano.
All are welcome to join the choir and sing a wide range of wonderful music with a friendly group of singers from across our community. We sing everything from Tallis to Johnny Cash, and even give world premiere performances of new choral works - most recently, Louis Mander’s English Requiem. At some services we incorporate other professional instrumentalists, ranging from solo players to string quintets and have professional Section Leaders each week to support our singing.
choir Rehearsals
In conjunction with Putney Music School, in 2022 we formed a new youth choir led by Rhiannon Llewellyn and Michael Stevenson. The choir rehearses on a Monday each week:
Mini-musicians/junior choir (ages 3-5 years old): 3:45-4:15pm
Putney Youth choir (ages 6-16): 5-6pm
St Margaret’s Choristers: 6-6:30pm
St Margaret’s Choir: 7:30-8:30pm

The Church Choir on Sunday
As well as the Monday rehearsal, we meet before the main parish service at 9am every Sunday in advance of the Parish Eucharist at 10am. There are no auditions; all we require is a desire to sing great music with lovely people, and the availability to come to a rehearsal or two!
